[origin: EP0222190A2] A multi-purpose table having as low a number of individual parts as possible is to be composed of several table top elements to form any desired configurations whilst maintaining the advantages of plastic table tops. This is achieved in that the underside of the table top (2) is equipped with guide webs (13) for at least partial overlapping of the top regions (14) of the legs (6) and with at least one web (16) in this region for engagement in a transverse slot (15) in the top region (14) of the legs (6) and with a peripheral edge (3) of a wall thickness, at least partially, such that adjacently arranged table tops (2) have an edge wall thickness which corresponds to the slotting (15) in the legs (6). <IMAGE>
