Abstract (en)

An apparatus (l0) for containing and dispensing a fluid under pressure comprises a generally rigid body member (l2) having an open top end (l4) and a bottom end (l6) with a central axis extending generally between the top and bottom ends. A generally rigid elongated mandrel member (26) extends generally along the central axis through the open top end of the body member (l2) opening and into at least a portion of the body member (l2). An elastomeric, expandable, substantially inert fluid container member (28) is disposed around the mandrel member (26). The container member (28) is generally cylindrical when unexpanded, with open top and bottom ends and is sealingly secured to the mandrel members (26) proximate the top and bottom ends. Valve means (20), including a valve-controlled passageway (24), are connected to the top end of the mandrel member (26). Fluid is inserted into the container and is expelled from the container through the valve-controlled passageway (24). Fastener means (32, 34, 32', 34') comprised of a strip of polypropylene material (32, 34) in one embodiment and strands of polyester yarn material (32', 34') in another embodiment are employed for sealingly securing the container member (28) to the mandrel member (26).
