[origin: EP0222736A2] The lock possesses a ring (8) rigidly connected to the rim of the opening and having radial recesses (9), which are of graduated design in the circumferential direction, and a substantially cylindrical shell surface (14). In order to close the container in a pressure-resistant manner, a lid provided with dogs can be positively fitted with the ring (8), in the recesses (9) thereof, and a tubular attachment connected to the lid which is inserted into the shell surface on closure possesses a seal extending in the circumferential direction, the ring (8) additionally having a radial relief hole and/or groove (10) which releases the sealing element when the dogs engage with the first step of the recesses (9) and slides over it in a sealing manner in the second step (Fig. 2). <IMAGE>
