Abstract (en)

[origin: WO8606727A1] A method for the purification of an IgG containing material, comprises the steps of: (i) fractionating an immunoglobulin G-containing material on a microparticulate, strong anion exchange resin having meso- and macro- porous surfaces, and (ii) recovering a purified IgG fraction from the resin by elution. The method may further comprise removal of Kallikrein-like esterase and other protease enzyme or protease zymogen activity from an IgG-containing material which comprises the steps of: (i) contacting the IgG-containing material with a protein-binding dye immobilised on a macroporous, mechanically stable gel support, and (ii) recovering the enzyme and zymogen-depleted IgG-containing material. The IgG-containing material may for example be Cohn Fraction II paste or powder.
