Life-saving device for divers with a buoyancy body which may be filled and a respiratory bag into which a respiratory gas mixture is supplied, dosed from a compressed gas supply, characterised in that from the very beginning of the ascent from great diving depths, a first compressed gas container (4) containing a gas mixture for great diving depths is connected to the respiratory bag (1) via a fixed pressure-reducing valve (7), and a second compressed gas container (3) containing a gas mixture for shallow diving depths is connected to said respiratory bag via a pressure reducer (5) and a second fixed pressure-reducing valve (6) connected downstream thereof, whereby the filling pressures and the compositions of the gas and also the pressure-reducing valves are so coordinated with one another that the oxygen partial pressure prevailing at the time corresponds to the physiologically permissible amounts.
