Homogeneous concentrated liquid detergent compositions are disclosed, containing a binary anionic surfactant system. The binary anionic surfactant system is represented by a mixture, in well-defined ratios, of an alk(en)yl succinate and a specific class of sulfonated surface-active agents with a critical micellar concentration in the range of from 10<-><5> to 10<-><3> mole/l.
