Transformer with fusing device for disconnection in the case of electrical faults occurring within an oil-filled transformer tank, for example in the case of short-circuits occurring on the windings, with a safety fuse (13), formed as an IK interrupter, between the lower end of a conductor bolt (11) assigned to a high-voltage bushing, and a winding terminal belonging to the said conductor bolt (11), characterised in that - the distance between the lower end of the high-voltage bushing and the upper end of the safety fuse (13) is less than half the length of the safety fuse (13), and in that - the conductor section between the lower end of the high-voltage bushing and the safety fuse (13) is constructed in such a way that it is without an arc base, in that - this conductor section is encased by corresponding pieces of shrink tubing, and - the safety fuse (13) carries a shield (16) which is open in the direction of the high-voltage bushing and is made of insulating material.
