[origin: WO8606882A1] A multiconductor electrical cable termination (10) for flat ribbon cable (11) has plural electrical contacts (26) pierced through the cable inslulation to engagement with respective conductors (13). The junctions of contacts and conductors are encapsulated in a base (15) that forms an integral structure with the contacts and cable maintaining the junctions substantially free of oxygen and moisture. Plural openings in the base provide access to terminal portions of the contacts for test probing thereof, or the like, while the contacting portions (12) of the contacts (26) are connected to another termination, connector or the like. The cable termination assembly is formed using both an insulation displacement mass termination connection of the contacts (26) and cable conductors and additionally has a solder connection (42) provided between respective contacts and cable conductors, for example during or after such encapsulation.

Une terminaison (10) de câble électrique multiconducteur pour câble plats (11) comprend une pluralité de contacts électriques (29) qui traversent l'isolation du câble pour faire contact avec des conducteurs respectifs (13). Les jonctions des contacts et des conducteurs sont renfermées dans une base (15) qui forme une structure intégrée avec les contacts et le câble, en maintenant ainsi les jonctions à l'abri de l'oxygène et de l'humidité. Une pluralité d'ouvertures dans la base donnent accès aux parties terminales des contacts pour contrôle ou similaire, alors que les parties de contact (12) des contacts (26) sont connectées à une autre terminaison, à un autre connecteur ou similaire. L'assemblage de terminaison de câble est formé par connexion des contacts (26) et des conducteurs de câble à terminaison de masse de déplacement de l'isolation et comprend en outre une connexion soudée (42) entre des contacts et des conducteurs respectifs du câble, avant ou après leur encapsulage, par exemple.
