[origin: EP0224760A1] Process is described for the prodn. of fitted sheets or similar coverings and involves applying markings on the uncut fabric to fix the fastening sections for the elastic rubber tapes, the transverse cutting lines for the fabric and the connecting seams at each corner to be cut. The rubber tapes are sewn on while the fabric is kept flat and the individual sheet lengths are cut from the fabric. The rubber tapes are sewn on the cut edges of the sheets and each corner of every piece of fabric is folded diagonally. The folded sections are sewn together along the markings for the connecting seams and the folded seactions with the corners are cut laterally along each connecting seam.
