L'invention se rapporte à un plateau de conditionnement. Il est caractérisé en ce que chaque panneau (6a, 6b, 7a, 7b) destiné à former la paroi latérale du plateau (1) comporte sur toute la longueur (L) au moins une amorce de pliage (11) qui: d'une part, s'étend sensiblement parallément au côté (3a, 3b, 4a, 4b) du fond que jouxte ce panneau et, d'autre part, se situe à une certaine distance (d) de ce côté (3a, 3b, 4a, 4b) de telle façon qu'on puisse par pliage constituer un volet (12) dont le bord externe (13) peut, lorsque le plateau est rempli, être amené au moins sensiblement à l'aplomb du côté (3a, 3b, 4a, 4b) du fond.
