Abstract (en)

[origin: US4728337A] An assistant combination for use as textile finishing agent, especially in a process for aftertreating wool dyeings, which comprises (1) a diquaternary ammonium salt of formula <IMAGE> (1) wherein Q is a divalent aliphatic hydrocarbon radical of 2 to 12 carbon atoms which may be interrupted in the chain by oxygen atoms and is unsubstituted or substituted by hydroxy. R1 and R2 are each independently of the other an aliphatic radical of 6 to 24 carbon atoms, R3 to R6 are independently of the other lower alkyl, hydroxy-lower alkyl or lower alkoxy-lower alkyl, X1 and X2 are each oxygen or -NH-, Z1 and Z2 are each independently of the other C2-C6alkylene, and Y(-) is an anion of a strong inorganic or organic acid, and (2) (A) a mono- or polyquaternary ammonium salt which carries at least one hydrocarbon radical of not less than 7 carbon atoms attached to the nitrogen atom, or (B) a polymeric ammonium salt, or (C) a basic non-quaternized nitrogen-containing polycondensate.
