[origin: EP0225653A2] The marking vehicle is equipped with a paint-spraying gun (10) and a bead-spreading device (4). The connecting lines (9, 3) between the paint-spraying gun and the paint tank (7) and between the bead-spreading device and bead container (1) have an ultrasound-conducting pipe section (5, 11), to the respective outer wall of which an ultrasonic measuring head (6, 12) is fastened for throughflow measurement on the Doppler principle. The output signals from these measuring heads are converted in a computing circuit (13, 14, 15), by the use of a signal (18a) representing the vehicle speed, into output signals (24, 23) which directly indicate the layer thickness of the laid paint and the quantity of beads scattered per unit of distance. Furthermore, they are displayed on indicators (21, 20) and recorded continuously or intermittently in a recorder (22). Thus, written recordings of the quantities of paint and beads laid are available both to those responsible for the marking and to the controlling authority, and this makes it possible to do away with the complicated special monitoring tests and checks necessary hitherto. <IMAGE>
