[origin: EP0226086A2] A connector adapted to be mounted to a printed circuit board (10) by a surface mount technique, the connector including an insulating body (7) with contact elements (33) arranged therein. The contact elements are connected to termination points (6) on the circuit board by a short conductor section, such as a short length of flat cable (35). One end (49) of the conductors (36) is connected to the contact elements and the other end (46) to the termination points.
