A pump with an axially movable pump element, in particular a diaphragm pump, has a reciprocating actuating rod (22) and a displacement piston (24) axially movable relative thereto. A valve (35), which serves to balance the fluid in the stroke volume (26) in the event of both a lack of fluid and an excess of fluid, is formed between the front ends, facing each other, of the actuating rod and the displacement piston (24). The displacement piston is sealed off in the cylinder bore (15) by means of a sealing ring (25). In this way, leakage losses are avoided during the pressure stroke and centre offset is evened out.

Eine Pumpe mit axial beweglichem Pumpelement, insbesondere Membranpumpe, weist eine hin- und hergehende Betätigungsstange (22) und einen axial relativ hierzu verschiebbaren Verdrängerkolben (24) auf. Ein Ventil (35), das den Flüssigkeitsausgleich im Hubraum (26) sowohl bei Flüssigkeitsmangel als auch bei Flüssigkeitsüberschuß dient, wird zwischen den einander zugewandten Stirnseiten von Betätigungsstange und Verdrängerkolben (24) gebildet. Der Verdrängerkolben ist mittels eines Dichtrings (25) in der Zylinderbohrung (15) abgedichtet. Auf diese Weise werden Leckverluste beim Druckhub vermieden und ein Mittenversatz ausgeglichen.
