[origin: EP0226784A2] A power-driven insertion tool for fasteners, such as staples or nails, is provided. The tool comprises a driver (6), a feeler (15) actuable when the tool is attached to an appliance, and a handle (33) for triggering an impact guided by the driver (6). The feeler (15) and handle (33) are so connected to a release (47) for the driver (6) that their switching movements supplement one another for the releasing movement of the release (47). This provides a repeat-action control which does not necessitate a specific sequence in the actuation of the handle (33) and feeler (15). As is customary, the feeler (15) first and then the handle (33) can be actuated in order to trigger a driver impact. However, it is also possible to actuate first the handle (33) and then the feeler (15). The latter allows a rapid and easy fixing of a series of fastening means, with the handle (33) always held in the release position. <IMAGE>
