The information corresponding to the broadband input signal is expanded in time and distributed to n channels. The information items supplied to the n channels are recorded simultaneously by means of n magnetic video heads. Suitable head arrangement and suitable track geometry have the result that even conventional home video cassettes can be reproduced by means of the video recorder according to the invention. <IMAGE>

Es wird ein Videorecorder zur Aufzeichnung und Wiedergabe von Fernseh-Signalen für erhöhte Auflösung beschrieben. Die dem breitbandigen Eingangssignal entsprechende Information wird zeitlich expandiert und auf n Kanäle verteilt. Die Aufzeichnung der den n Kanälen zugeleiteten Informationen erfolgt gleichzeitig mittels n Videomagnetköpfen. Durch eine geeignete Kopfanordnung und eine geeignete Spurgeometrie wird erreicht, daß mit dem erfindungsgemäßen Videorecorder auch herkömmliche Heimvideokassetten wiedergegeben werden können.
