[origin: US4702545A] A contact spring is formed of a strip of spring sheet metal which is divided at one end into at least two and preferably three parallel webs, the two outer webs being longer and bent-back in a U-shape and connected at their free ends to one another by a cross piece which is immediately the U-shaped bend. The cross piece realizes a first contact surface while the shorter middle web has its free end residing opposite the cross piece to form a second contact surface. In the nonbent condition, the contact surfaces lie in the same region and are closely adjacent one another so that a band of spring sheet metal which includes a precious metal layer at only one side in a narrow region of the contact surfaces can be used to manufacture the contact springs. When two webs are provided, a longer one has a transverse arm and is bent-back adjacent the end of the shorter web.

Ein Federblechstreifen ist zu einem Ende hin in drei zueinander parallele Stege aufgeteilt, von welchen die beiden äußeren längeren Stege U-förmig zurückgebogen und am freien Ende über ein der U-Biegung unmittelbar benachbartes Querstück zur Realisierung einer ersten Kontaktfläche verbunden sind, während der kürzere mittlere Steg mit seinem freien Ende zur Bildung einer zweiten Kontaktfläche dem Querstück gegenübersteht. Im unabgebogenen Zustand der äußeren Stege weisen beide Kontaktflächen in dieselbe Richtung und sind einander eng benachbart, so daß zur Herstellung solcher Kontaktfedern ein Federblechband verwendet werden kann, das vorteilhaft im Bereich der Kontaktflächen nur einseitig eine Edelmetallschicht aufweist.
