The application relates to a method for operating a milling system through which the product and a carrier gas flow, in which method an inert gas conducted in a circuit is used as carrier gas; preferably, the inert gas is cooled before being conducted back into the mill (1) and/or dried; in order to be able to influence the pressure in the inert gas circuit, a partial current of the inert gas is compressed with the aid of a compressor (21) arranged in a branch line (17,18) to a pressure above the pressure in the main circuit and is conducted back to the main circuit via a controllable throttle (23). <IMAGE>

Die Anmeldung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zum Betrieb einer Mahlanlage, die vom Produkt und einem Trägergas durchströmt wird, bei welchem als Trägergas ein im Kreislauf geführtes Inertgas verwendet wird; vorzugsweise wird das Inertgas vor der Rückführung in die Mühle (1) gekühlt und/oder getrocknet; um auf den Druck im Inertgaskreislauf Einfluß nehmen zu können, wird ein Teilstrom des Inertgases mit Hilfe eines in einer Zweigleitung (17, 18) angeordneten Kompressors (21) auf einen über dem Druck im Hauptkreislauf liegenden Druck komprimiert und über eine regelbare Drossel (23) dem Hauptkreislauf wieder zugeführt.
