A process for the heat treatment of Al alloys containing Li to improve their resistance to exfoliation corrosion while retaining a high level of mechanical strength and good resistance to damage characterised in that the final ageing operation is carried out in the following range of temperatures T (in degree C) and times t (in hours) : t >= 24 X 5 exp ((150-T)/30) t =< 80 X 5 exp ((150-T)/30) with : T =< 160 degrees C for Mg >= 2% T =< 160 degrees C-5 (2-% Mg) degrees C for 1 =< Mg =< 2% T =< 155 degrees C for Mg =< 1%.

La présente invention est relative à un procédé de désensibilisation à la corrosion exfoliante des alliages d'Al contenant du Li par traitement de sous-revenu, conduisant simultanément à des hautes résistances mécaniques et à une bonne tenue aux dommages. Selon l'invention, le revenu doit être effectué dans un domaine températurestemps suivant : t >= 20 × 5 exp ((150-T)/30) t <= 80 × 5 exp ((150-T)/30) et T <= 160°C pour Mg >= 2 % T <= 160°C - 5 (2-%Mg)°C pour 1 <= Mg <= 2 % T <= 155°C pour Mg <= 1 %. avec : t= durée de revenu en heure T = températures de revenu en °C.
