Abstract (en)

The method will find application, in particular, in the case of despatching objects, such as printed documents or catalogues, by mail according to the distributing office. According to the invention, the objects are sorted and grouped according to their destination, the said objects bearing, in particular, the addressee's address and being ordered by the place on the address, by providing at least one identifying graphical marking on each of the addressed and ordered objects (1), the markings all being identical for the same place on the address, by passing the addressed, ordered and marked objects (1) one by one in front of detection and reading means (8) in order to identify each identifying marking read successively, by analysing the sequence of the identifying markings read and by comparing each reading of the marking with the preceding reading and with the following one, and by detecting a confirmed break in the sequence of the identifying markings read with a view to grouping the objects addressed to the same place. <IMAGE>
