A unit (14) for loading a paper roll (10) onto a paper-roll support (1) of an intaglio printing machine is received in a pit (35) in front of the paper-roll support and is equipped with a pair of supporting rollers (16) which are intended for holding the new paper rolls to be loaded and which are mounted in a supporting structure (29) carried raisably and lowerably (23, 24) by a bogie (26) which, itself carried (33) movably, can slide by a drive of translational means (36, 37) on guides (34) which are anchored in the said pit where the unit is received. At the same time, there are sensors (42, 43, 44) which serve for centring the paper roll on the supporting rollers, for retaining the arms (6A, 6B) of the paper-roll support in the loading position and for mutual alignment between the core (11) of the paper roll and the clamping jaws (7) assigned to this core. The operation of changing the paper roll requires no expenditure of physical force and can be carried out by a single operator. <IMAGE>

Eine Station (14) zum Beladen des Papierrollentraegers (1) von Tiefdruckrotationsmaschinen mit Papierrollen (10), welche Station (14) in einer Grube (35) vor dem Papierrollentraeger (1) aufgenommen und mit einem Paar von Stuetzrollen (16) zum Halten der neu zu beladenden Papierrollen (10) versehen ist, welche Stuetzrollen in einem Traggeruest (29) gelagert sind, das aufhebbar sowie absenkbar (23, 24) von einem Laufwerk (26) getragen ist, das - wiederum beweglich getragen (33) - durch Antrieb von Translationsmitteln (36, 37) an Fuehrungen (34) entlanggleiten kann, die in der genannten Grube (35), wo die Station aufgenommen ist, verankert sind. Dabei sind Fuehler (42, 43, 44) vorgesehen, die jeweils der Zentrierung der Papierrolle (10) auf den Stuetzrollen (16), dem Festhalten der Arme (6A, 6B) des Papierrollentraegers (1) in der Ladestellung und der gegenseitigen Ausrichtung zwischen dem Kern (11) der Papierrolle (10) und den diesem Kern zugeordneten Spannbacken (7) dienen.
