Abstract (en)
To produce non-shedding wadding pads which nonetheless should possess high absorbency and softness, it is proposed to adhere the fibres to one another using a binder uniformly distributed over the volume of the wadding swab. This is achieved by a process wherein the carded sheet of wadding, consisting of cotton and cellulose staple fibres, is treated with a binder, for example self-crosslinking acrylic resins, in foam form, and, after the subsequent drying, the wadding pads are blanked out. <IMAGE>

Zur Herstellung von flusenfesten Wattepads, die dennoch eine gute Saugfähigkeit und Weichheit aufweisen, wird vorgeschlagen, die Fasern durch ein gleichmässig über das Volumen des Wattetupfers verteiltes Bindemittel untereinander zu verkleben. Dieses wird durch ein Verfahren erreicht, bei dem man das aus Baumwoll- und Zellwollfasern bestehende kardierte Watteband mit einem Bindemittel, z.B. selbstnetzende Acrylharze, in Schaumform behandelt und nach anschliessender Trocknung die Wattepads ausstanzt.
