[origin: WO8703343A1] Fan for cooling electronic installations comprising a square casing with central electric motor (8) for the impeller wheel and in which a first main surface (7) of the casing is arranged perpendicular to the rotation axis of the impeller wheel parallel to the direction of the inflow, whereby the flow is then deflected through 90<o> and emerges from the casing on at least one side face perpendicular to this first main surface. The invention results in a remarkable noise reduction.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Gebläse zur Kühlung elektronischer Anlagen, wobei ein quaderförmiges Gehäuse mit einem zentralen Elektromotor für das Laufrad vorgesehen ist, und eine erste Hauptfläche des Gehäuses senkrecht zur Rotationsachse des Laufrades parallel zur Einströmrichtung ist, und wobei dann die Strömung um 90° umgelenkt wird und an mindestens einer, zu dieser ersten Hauptfläche senkrechten Seitenfläche das Gehäuse verläßt. Die Erfindung führt zu drastischer Geräuschreduzierung.
