[origin: WO8700241A1] Silencer comprising a closed container comprising a side wall (3) having an elliptical shape, a top, a bottom and an input (1) and an output (2). Exhaust gases from a combustion engine are brought into the interior of the container at a first focusing point (4), and being collected in a second focusing point (5) after reflection from the side wall (3). In the second focusing point (5) a sound absorbing material (6) absorbs the sound waves and the gases thereafter exits the silencers through the output (2).

Un silencieux est formé d'un conteneur fermé comprenant une paroi latérale (3) de forme elliptique, un sommet, un fond, une conduite d'admission (1) et une conduite d'évacuation (2). Les gaz d'échappement d'un moteur à combustion sont introduits dans le conteneur jusqu'à un premier point de focalisation (4) et collectés dans un deuxième point de focalisation (5) après avoir été réféchis par la paroi latérale (3). Dans le deuxième point de focalisation (5), un matériau amortisseur (6) de sons absorbe les ondes sonores, et les gaz quittent ensuite le silencieux par la conduite d'évacuation (2).
