[origin: US4795183A] The invention relates to a braking for installation on a snow ski. Such mechanisms are known, for example, in the form of a ski binding. The ski binding allows the movement of the ski with the foot. However, it is not possible to achieve a braking effect with parallel guided skis. Therefore, it is suggested to arrange at least one braking member on the ski for movement against the ground relative to the respective ski. The braking member is operatively connected with an operating mechanism to be actuated by the skier.
