[origin: WO8700099A1] Method and machine for continuous casting of thin metal products particularly made of steel. According to the invention, the internal casting space (13) of the mould (1) is imparted with a substantially spindel-shaped cross section providing a central portion (17) having a large thickness (L) enabling the introduction of the molten metal stream in normal conditions and having on its sides (18) a reduced thickness (1) corresponding to that of the product to be formed (53) and, into a thickness reducing cage (2) placed immediately at the outlet of the mould (1), the central portion (17) of the product is progressively flatened until a thickness (1) equal to that of the sides is obtained by exerting throughout the product surface a uniformely distributed pressure so as to continuously straighten the longitudinal walls of the product achieved at the same time as the solidification process at the outlet of the thickness reducing cage.
