Abstract (en)

[origin: DE3640161A1] A hydraulic servomotor (3) with piston and cylinder is provided on the roll surface (1) to be moved, in order to bring about its positioning relative to another roll surface. The servomotor (3) is in each case provided between the surface (1) to be moved and its associated stand (6). A regulating device is assigned which is arranged between a pressure source, the pressure space of the servomotor (3) and a container (10) for the hydraulic medium. This regulating device is designed to regulate the admission to the pressure space of the servomotor (3) of different pressure up to a maximum pressure of the pressure source and to regulate the outlet of a selected volume of the medium from the pressure space, when lowering the roll surface, down to a desired remaining volume, and to maintain this remaining volume. A defined relative position among the roll surfaces thus results. This apparatus can thus be used to carry out the lifting, relieving, lowering or holding of the working surfaces in desired positions. The apparatus is also especially suitable for removing the individual rolls, in particular the intermediate rolls of the roll assembly, very quickly from one another, and, by setting an appropriate reduced pressure in the pressure space of the servomotor (3), for taking up and counteracting the weights to be relieved, e.g. the so-called overhanging weights or marginal loads at the individual roll surfaces (1). <IMAGE>
