Then, another maintenance unit travels into the cleared working track and takes over the maintenance of the work stations until, after completion of the inspection, the inspected maintenance unit (40) is again brought back from its inspection position into its working track and again takes over the maintenance of the work stations (25) of this working track. For this, a section of the running rail is movable transversely to its longitudinal direction. By means of a control device the remaining maintenance units are brought into operation for the maintenance of those spinning stations which the maintenance unit (40) brought into the inspection position would have maintained.
