[origin: US4733779A] A package for slabs of butter of the type including a lower tray part and an upper tray part wherein the lower tray part does not have any edges protruding beyond the plane of a middle butter support field so that the butter can easily be cut into portions with a knife. The upper tray part, with its edge, engages a continuous furrow in the edge region of the lower tray part, where it is retained by friction. The slab of butter is covered with a wrapper material on its five sides above the support side on the lower tray part. The butter is thereby protected both mechanically and physically and it is very convenient to remove servings thereof.

Als Verpackung für Buttertafeln (1) sind ein unterer Schalenteil (10) und ein oberer Schalenteil (20) vorhanden. Der untere Schalenteil (10) hat keine über ein mittleres Feld (11) vorstehenden Ränder, so dass die Butter bequem mit einem Messer (3) portioniert werden kann. Der obere Schalenteil (20) greift mit dem Rand in eine umlaufende Rille (13) im unteren Schalenteil (10) ein und ist dort durch Reibungskraft gehaltert. Die Buttertafel (1) ist auf den fünf Seiten über der Auflage auf dem unteren Schalenteil (10) mit einem Einschlagmaterial (30) bedeckt. Damit ist die Butter mechanisch und physikalisch geschützt und die Entnahme ist sehr handlich.
