Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0231408A1] 1. Device for taking up loads on board and for lowering them from board of a ship (2) with a deck (3) consisting partially of an upper roof deck (5) or the like extending over the breadth of the ship (2) and being integrated into the superstructure (4) of the ship, with two separated guide frames (7) extending over the breadth of the ship in the upper roof deck (5) or at the rear thereof each having a davit (8) which is moveable on rollers and guidable on pulleys (77) in the associated guide frame (7) and which has, at its outer end sections (9, 10), a holding member (11) like a hook or the like lowerable and raisable vertically by means of pulley lifting tackle, characterized in that each davit (8) is horizontally movable by means of a first hydraulic actuating drive (12) and that holding members (11) are raisable and lowerable by means of a second hydraulic actuating drive (13), both of the hydraulic actuating drives (12, 13) are provided respective as double-operating hydraulic cylinders (15, 16) with a piston rod (21, 22) extending from both ends thereof, the piston (17) of hydraulic cylinder (15) is connected to a first pulley lifting tackle (19) for shifting of the davit (8) or an abutment at the superstructure (4) of the ship, and piston (18) of second hydraulic cylinder (16) is connected to a pulley lifting tackle (20) for actuating of the holding member (11), and that a pressure oil supply device (14) is arranged at davit (8), altenately working with two hydraulic actuating drives (12, 13) for horizontal shifting of davit (8) as well as for vertical shifting of one of the holding members (11).
