[origin: US4856538A] The testing of cigarettes before their packaging is appropriately carried out in the region of magazine shafts (13, 14) of a cigarette magazine (10). To bring a layer (38) of cigarettes of a cigarette group (16) into an exact position for carrying out testing, they are temporarily received in a transverse slide (29) which causes the cigarettes to be aligned as a result of a transverse movement.

Die Prüfung von Zigaretten vor der Verpackung derselben erfolgt zweckmäßigerweise im Bereich von Magazin-Schächten (13, 14) eines Zigaretten-Magazins (10). Um eine Lage (38) von Zigaretten bzw. eine Zigaretten-Gruppe (16) für die Durchführung der Prüfung in eine exakte Position zu bringen, finden diese zeitweilig Aufnahme in einem Querschieber (29), der durch Querbewegung eine Ausrichtung der Zigaretten bewirkt.
