The invention describes a method and apparatus (1) for dispensing and collecting trolleys (2) especially shopping or luggage trolleys. The particular feature of this invention is that the coin deposit to be paid for dispensing of the trolley (2) is reimbursed upon the return of the trolley (2) to a collecting point (6) only when a central key (17) provided at the collecting point (6) acts on the coupling part (4) of the returned trolley (2). <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung beschreibt ein Verfahren und eine Einrichtung (1) zur Freigabe und Entgegennahme von Transportwagen (2), insbesondere Einkaufs- oder Gepäckwagen. Das besondere Merkmal dieser Erfindung besteht darin, daß das bei der Freigabe des Transportwagens (2) zu entrichtende Münzpfand bei der Rückgabe des Transportwagens (2) an eine Sammelstelle (6) nur dann zurückerstattet wird, wenn ein an der Sammelstelle (6) bereitgestellter Zentralschlüssel (17) auf das Kopplungsteil (4) des zurückgebrachten Transportwagens (2) einwirkt.
