The security device comprises a base (1) fixed via a fixing mechanism (7, 9) to a support such as a rung or an upright (42) of a ladder, a clamp with two jaws (16, 23) which pivot relative to the base (1), preferably about shafts which are parallel and fixed to a plate (10) revolving on the base (1), and a mechanism for actuating the jaws between opening and closing positions, as well as a manoeuvring mechanism, comprising a two-strap pulley (30 and 31), the traction of which controls the manoeuvring of the actuating device and thus the movements of the jaws. Application to the temporary fastening of the upper parts of ladders and scaffolding to an erect support such as a tree, column, post or to a projection of a facade. <IMAGE>

Le dispositif de sécurité selon l'invention comprend une embase (1) qui se fixe par un mécanisme de fixation (7,9) sur un support tel qu'un échelon ou un montant (42) d'une échelle, une pince à deux mâchoires (16,23) pivotantes par rapport à l'embase (1), de préférence autour d'axes parallèles et fixés sur une platine (10) tournant sur l'embase (1), et un mécanisme d'actionnement des mâchoires, entre des positions d'ouverture et de fermeture, ainsi qu'un mécanisme de manoeuvre, comportant une poulie à deux cordes (30 et 31) dont la traction commande les manoeuvres du dispositif d'actionnement, et donc les mouvements des mâchoires. Application à la fixation temporaire des parties supérieures des échelles et échafaudages à un appui érigé tel qu'un arbre, colonne, poteau ou à une saillie d'une façade.
