[origin: US4685732A] A folding chair defined by a U-shaped rest, a seat, a pair of vertically extending front legs and a pair of obliquely downwardly extending rear legs, wherein the rest, the front legs and the rear legs are connected together for pivotal movement about a first transverse axis. Each rear leg is provided with a slider to which first, second and third struts are connected for pivotal movement about a second transverse axis, with the first strut being connected to the rest, the second strut being connected to the seat and the third strut being connected to a front leg for pivotal movement about third, fourth and fifth transverse axes, respectively. The seat is connected to the front legs for pivotal movement about a sixth transverse axis and is supported on the pair of sliders. All first and third struts are disposed in the same plane, intersecting a surface defined by the pair of rear legs. The chair is folded by raising the seat upwardly, thereby moving the sliders upwardly along the rear legs so that the rest and the rear legs are caused to pivot toward the front legs, with the first, second and third pairs of struts being caused to engage the rest, the seat and the front legs, respectively.

Klappstuhl mit einem Lehnenbügel (1), einer Sitzplatte (2), einem Vorderbeinpaar (3) und einem Hinterbeinpaar (4). Der Lehnenbügel (1), das Vorderbeinpaar (3) und das Hinterbeinpaar (4) sind um eine Querachse (10) schwenkbar miteinander verbunden. Das Hinterbeinpaar (4) ist mit einem Schiebestückpaar (8) versehen, mit welchem drei Strebenpaare (5, 6, 7) um eine Querachse (12) schwenkbar verbunden sind, die ferner um eine Querachse (13 bzw. 14 bzw. 15) schwenkbar mit dem Lehnenbügel (1) bzw. der Sitzplatte (2) bzw. dem Vorderbeinpaar (3) verbunden sind. Die Sitzplatte (2) ist um eine Querachse (11) schwenkbar mit dem Vorderbeinpaar (3) verbunden und stützt sich auf dem Schiebestückpaar (8) ab. Das Vorderbeinpaar (3) erstreckt sich senkrecht, das Hinterbeinpaar (4) schräg nach unten. Die beiden am Lehnenbügel (1) bzw. Vorderbeinpaar (3) angelenkten Strebenpaare (5, 7) verlaufen in derselben Ebene, welche die Fläche des Hinterbeinpaares (4) kreuzt. Zum Zusammenklappen des Stuhls wird die Sitzplatte (2) hochgeschwenkt, um das Schiebestückpaar (8) mitzunehmen. Dabei schwenken der Lehnenbügel (1) und das Hinterbeinpaar (4) zum Vorderbeinpaar (3) hin und legen sich die Strebenpaare (5, 6, 7) an den Lehnenbügel (1) bzw. die Sitzplatte (2) bzw. das Vorderbeinpaar (3) an.
