Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0232787A1] The invention relates to a contact arrangement for an electrical switch apparatus with at least one fixed contact, shaped like a U with limbs of unequal length, the longer limb, provided with a mounting hole, being used for the current connection and the shorter limb, on the side facing away from the longer limb, being used as the contact. An arc runner is provided adjacent to the contact point and is electrically connected to the contact. The longer limb is pushed from the side into slots in an insulating part which can be connected to the housing, the end part of the longer limb covering the limb of the U-shaped, bent arc runner which is inserted in a cut-out in the insulating part, transversely with respect to the direction in which the longer limb is pushed in. This limb of the arc runner carries the thread for the screw connection. This arrangement results in a simple mounting method for the fixed contact. It is advantageous for prefabrication if the insulating part carries the fixed contacts of all poles of the switch apparatus. <IMAGE>
