A watch is constructed in a manner such that the watch housing (10) essentially consists of wood. Solid wood or glued-together veneer layers (40) may be used for this. The closure element (20) can also be made of wood. The advantage of this construction resides in the fact that the entire watch is extremely light-weight and is well tolerated by the skin because of the natural consistency of wood. Suitable substances, for example, transparent inks, impregnations or the like, can be employed to form the surface, and colouring is also readily possible. Such a watch is particularly advantageously supplemented by a wrist-band made of natural materials, for example, and/or leather. <IMAGE>

Eine Armbanduhr ist so aufgebaut, daß das Uhrgehäuse (10) im wesentlichen aus Holz besteht. Hierbei kann entweder Massivholz oder auch miteinander verleimte Furnierschichten (40) zur Verwendung kommen. Auch das Verschlußelement (20) kann aus Holz bestehen. Der Vorteil dieses Aufbaues besteht darin, daß die gesamte Armbanduhr extrem leicht ist und aufgrund der natürlichen Beschaffenheit von Holz gut hautverträglich ist. Geeignete Stoffe, wie zum Beispiel Lasuren, Imprägnierungen oder ähnliches können zur Oberflächengestaltung eingesetzt werden, auch eine Farbgebung ist auf einfache Weise möglich. Besonders sinnvoll ergänzt wird eine derartige Uhr durch ein Armband aus Naturmaterialien, beispielsweise und/oder Leder.
