1. Method for controlling the valve (17) of a liquid fuel burner, the burner being provided with a fuel conduit (10) leading from a pump (11) to a nozzle (12), which fuel conduit (10) includes the valve (17) and, in the flow path upstream of the valve (17), has a pressure store (19) connected thereto, characterized in that the valve (17) is controlled in such a manner that the pressure store (19), prior to ignition of the flame and while the valve (17) is in the closed state, is filled with fuel and, after the opening of the valve (17) and under operation of the pump (11), is discharged towards the nozzle (12).

Brennstoffgemische mit hohen Strömungsgeschwindigkeiten lassen sich schwer zünden. Die Zündung wird erleichtert, wenn das Gemisch beim Start kurzfristig angefettet wird. Zu diesem Zweck ist in die Brennstoffleitung (10) ein Ventil (17) gesetzt. Ein Druckspeicher (19) nimmt bei geschlossenem Ventil (17) die von der Verdrängerpumpe (11) geförderte Flüssigkeitsmenge auf. Durch Öffnen des Ventils (17) entlädt sich der Druckspeicher (19) zur Düse (12) hin, wodurch kurzfristig eine vergrößerte Brennstoffmenge zur Verfügung gestellt wird. Die Zündung erfolgt durch die Elektrodenanordnung (16). Die Verdrängerpumpe (11) ist von einem Rüchlaufzweig (22) überbrückt, der ein federgespanntes Rückschlagventil (23) enthält. Das Rüchschlagventil (23) öffnet, wenn der Druckspeicher (19) aufgeladen ist.
