[origin: US4772779A] A cooking range with cooking surfaces made of glass-ceramic or comparable material, which has radiating heat elements with at least two heating circuits and suitably fitted control elements. These heating circuits are so arranged, or the heating conductors are so wired or connected by such circuitry, that in the warm-up phase one or more heat conductors are briefly overloaded so that in a very short time they begin to glow and thereby, through translucent cooking surfaces, begin to light up.

Bei einem Kochfeld mit Kochflächen aus Glaskeramik oder vergleichbarem Material, welches Strahlungsheizkörper mit mindestens zwei Heizkreisen und zugeordnete Regelorgane aufweist, sind diese Heizkreise derart angeordnet bzw. sind deren Heizleiter derart verdrahtet und/oder schaltungstechnisch verbunden, daß in der Anheizphase ein oder mehrere Heizleiter kurzfristig so überlastbar sind, daß sie in kürzester Zeit zum Glühen und damit, durch die transparente Kochfläche hindurch, zum Leuchten kommen.
