Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0233384A2] Process and device for distributing a liquid in a gaseous medium, in which process the liquid is introduced into a hollow body (1) having a number of identical outlets (2), provided rotation-symmetrically relative to a vertical axis, and in which process an element (4) is present in the hollow of the body, which element is at least partly in contact with the liquid and is moved up and down in a direction parallel to the vertical axis. At least the part of the body that is provided with outlets is moved up and down in a direction parallel to the vertical axis or the body is moved around the vertical axis. The frequency f of the movement of the body is equal to the product of a proportionality constant k and the quotient of the average flow rate of the liquid through the outlets of the body and the diameter d of an outlet, in which k is between 0.25 and 0.5, f is expressed in vibrations per second, v in metres per second and d in metres.
