Model car race track set with at least one model car (8) and with a track, which is formed by straight and curved track sections (1) with two lanes (2), and has embedded conductors (3), in the case of which each track section comprises laterally an inner guide edge (4), along which the model car slides by means of a crosspiece (10) projecting over its lateral surfaces, and each curved track section comprises at a distance parallel to its inner guide edge on the interior a vertical support wall (12) which is of a lower height than the associated guide edge, the crosspiece engaging by means of a downwardly directed rod-shaped retaining member (14) in the groove-shaped space (13) between the inner guide edge and the support wall, and it being possible for the crosspiece to be applied against the support wall as a result of centrifugal force, characterised in that on the curved track section (1) there is disposed an essentially L-shaped part (17) which is formed in the longitudinal direction with the curve of the inner guide edge (4), engages over the groove-shaped space (13) at a distance with one, upper leg (17'), and is detachably fastened to the track section (1) by means of the other leg (17") ; and in that the model car (8) comprises a further crosspiece (11), the one retaining member (15) of which extends into the groove-shaped space (13), both crosspieces (10, 11) being disposed at a distance behind one another and engaging through the gap between the support wall and the upper leg (17').
