Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0233548A2] The invention relates to closed-loop or open-loop control and/or monitoring of the operation of hydraulic injection-moulding machines, the throughput being reduced for switching over from injection to follow-up pressure. The object of the invention is to find the injection stroke, injection time, injection pressure or injection rate which corresponds to the optimum switching point, to control process parameters and to achieve cavity filling which is mould-independent, machine-internal, free from pressure peaks and complete. According to the invention, the time is recorded between the switching point of the throughput reduction and the reaching of a preselected pressure or the pressure upon throughput reduction, or of a signal in relation thereto, or the time between the reaching of a preselected pressure before throughput reduction and reaching it for the second time, or of another preselected pressure thereafter, or the injection plunger stroke upon throughput reduction, and its change up until the reaching of a preselected pressure, or of the pressure before the beginning of throughput reduction, is detected or the amount of the pressure difference between the maximum pressure before and the minimum pressure after throughput reduction is detected and used as a comparison variable for process control.
