According to the invention, the rail is bent in such a way via the rail head during the passage and the maxima and minima are matched to one another in such a way that the rail runs with a constant end curvature having a radius of 15 to 60 m into the last straightening triangle in which this curvature is bent again into a straight line. This straightening method ensures that the rail is virtually free of longitudinal internal tensile stresses on the rail-foot side.
