Abstract (en)

[origin: WO8704417A1] A yarn storage and feed device, in particular for textile machines, comprises a storage drum (4) in the form of a bar-type cage with a number of longitudinal yarn support elements arranged in a regularly-distributed manner in the circumferential direction. Each of the yarn support elements, attached at both ends of a drumlike body (13, 14, 15) and running essentially in the direction of the drum axis is designed in the manner of a narrow bar (16), which on the yarn input side comprises a radial inwardly-tapering region (17) which acts as a bevel stop for the incoming yarn (8), and, adjacent thereto, an essentially straight region (19) forming a yarn support region for several turns of a yarn coil (20), on which region follows a radially projecting, circular and peripheral yarn output flange (12). To avoid deposition of fluff etc., located adjacent to the yarn output flange (12) in the direction of the bevel stops on a radial inwardly-inclined peripheral surface (24) is a cover (23) rotationally-symmetric and coaxial to the axis of the drum, which at least in the regions lying between the adjacent bars (16) is continuous in the peripheral direction. The bars (16) penetrate directly into the cover (23). The peripheral surface (24), on the yarn output side of the storage drum (4), is continually denuded in an axial direction by the output yarn (8).
