Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0234210A2] The invention relates to a coupling for connecting a brush head or the like to a shaft, consisting of a journal connectable to the brush head and having a catching design and of a support which is connectable to the shaft and receives the journal and which has a lock actuable from outside counter to a spring effect. Such a coupling, which can easily be actuated and which is distinguished by an especially secure and positive connection of the coupling halves, is characterised in that the catch is designed as a catch projection which is arranged at the free end of the journal on one longitudinal side, in that on the opposite longitudinal side the journal has a recess which reduces the height of the latter and extends over the width of the journal and the length of which is smaller than the insertion length of the journal in the sleeve, and in that the sleeve has an inner cross-section which is matched to the largest journal cross-section and which has, on one side, a catch recess for the catch projection and, on the opposite side, a longitudinally extending groove for a tongue guided in it and projecting into the inner cross-section of the sleeve, the tongue being supported on an axial spring, being connected to a slide arranged on the outside of the sleeve and, in the locking state, engaging under the journal on the side opposite the catch projection. <IMAGE>
