[origin: US4726338A] A device for controlling an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle comprises a sensor disk rotating with the shaft of the engine and a stationary signal receiving element scanning signals from the sensor disk. Sensing elements are positioned on the sensor disk. The number of these elements is proportional to the number of cylinders of the engine. Each sensing element includes a sickle-shaped portion and a lug coordinated with the signal receiving element. The control system is formed as an assembly of prefabricated structural components.

Eine Vorrichtung zum Regeln einer Brennkraftmaschine eines Kraftfahrzeuges enthält ein Sensorsystem mit einer mit einer Welle der Brennkraftmaschine umlaufenden Geberscheibe (10), der ein raumfestes Aufnahmeelement (13) gegenübersteht. Die Geberscheibe (10) ist an ihrer Stirnseite mit einer zur Anzahl der Zylinder der Brennkraftmaschine proportionalen Anzahl von Bauteilen (11, 12) versehen. Die Bauteile (11, 12) weisen jeweils eine Sichel (14) und eine Nase (15) auf, die so variierbar sind, daß das Bauteil (11) eine dem Aufnahmeelement (13) zugeordnete Nase und das Bauteil (12) eine geschlossene, kreisförmige Kontur aufweist. Es kann ein sogennantes Baukastensystem aufgebaut werden. Mit Hilfe weniger Bauteile ist ein Gebersystem für alle denkbaren Zylindersysteme aufbaubar.
