[origin: EP0235010A1] The invention relates to an ignition device for a propulsive charge of ammunition (3) fired from a weapon (1), the device consisting of an alternating-voltage generator (10) feeding an ignition circuit comprising one or more capacitors and an electrical proximity switch (6). At least one of the electrical connections between the proximity switch and the generator consists of a capacitor (4), called a junction capacitor, one armature (4b) of which belongs to the ammunition (3) and the other armature (4a) of which is fixed to the weapon (1). The frequency of the alternating voltage supplied by the generator (10) is the resonant frequency of the ignition circuit. One of the terminals of the proximity switch is connected to a surface deposit of conductive material (7) applied to all or part of the outer surface of the propulsive charge.
