The toggle-lever clamping device consists of a fork-like clamping head, between the fork parts of which are mounted the pivotable clamping arm and the articulation and actuating members pivoting this. To protect the gap between the fork parts of the clamping head and the articulation and actuating members arranged in it against the penetration of machining chips or suchlike foreign bodies detrimental to functioning, the gap between the fork parts (3), which receives the articulation and actuating members and the mounted end of the clamping arm, is covered with an elastic covering element (4) at least on the side (5) remote from the clamping. The covering element (4) is of a length which corresponds to the maximum length of the gap in the clamping position of the clamping lever (1). <IMAGE>

Die Kniehebelspannvorrichtung besteht aus einem gabelartig ausgebildeten Spannkopf, zwischen dessen Gabelteilen der schwenkbare Spannarm und die diesen schwenkenden Gelenk- und Betätigungsglieder gelagert sind. Um den Spalt zwischen den Gabelteilen des Spannkopfes und die darin befindlichen Gelenk- und Betätigungsglieder gegen das Eindringen von Bearbeitungsspänen oder dergl. funktionsbeeinträchtigende Fremdkörper zu sichern, ist der die Gelenk- und Betätigungsglieder und das gelagerte Ende des Spannarmes aufnehmende Spalt zwischen den Gabelteilen (3) mit einem elastischen Abdeckelement (4) mindestens auf der spannfernen Seite (5) abgedeckt. Das Abdeckelement (4) hat dabei eine Länge, die der maximalen Länge des Spaltes bei Spannstellung des Spannhebels (1) entspricht.
