To protect the gap between the fork parts of the clamping head and the articulation and actuating members arranged in it against the penetration of machining chips or suchlike foreign bodies detrimental to functioning, the gap between the fork parts (3), which receives the articulation and actuating members and the mounted end of the clamping arm, is covered with an elastic covering element (4) at least on the side (5) remote from the clamping.
