Abstract (en)

[origin: US4847883A] The present invention concerns a support of carbonaceous material for a rotary target of X-ray tubes. The support is formed of two parts which are fixed with respect to each other, one part being of a carbon/carbon composite which provides mechanical strength and the other part being of polycrystalline graphite for receiving a refractory metal, by virtue of its coefficient of expansion. A thermal contact is provided between the two parts. The invention is especially applicable to targets of X-ray tubes which rotate at a high speed, 20,000 RPM and above.

Abstract (fr)

La présente invention concerne un support en matériau carboné pour anticathode tournante de tubes à rayons X. Ce support est caractérisé en ce qu'il est constitué de deux parties solidaires l'une de l'autre, l'une étant en composite carbone/carbone 3 qui assure la tenue mécanique, l'autre en graphite polycristallin 4 qui permet grâce à son coefficient de dilatation de recevoir le métal refractaire 5. Un contact thermique 8 est assuré entre les deux parties 3 et 4. L'invention s'applique plus particulièrement aux anticathodes de tubes à rayons X tournant à grande vitesse (20 000 tours/minute et au-delà).
