Un trimaran (10) comprend une paire de coques extérieures (12) et une coque intermédiaire (11), chaque coque extérieure étant reliée par un bras (14) à la coque intermédiaire. Chaque bras est maintenu fixé au mât (13) par un dispositif d'attache (24), les coques extérieures étant maintenues dans leur position par des filins (15, 16) s'étendant vers la proue (17) et par des âmes (19) s'étendant vers la poupe (21), les âmes (19) servant également de pont.
